AhlulBayt News Agency: Fu Cong, China’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, has warned that the Israeli attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities sets a “dangerous precedent,” urging immediate de-escalation to prevent further deterioration of the situation.
Addressing the UN Security Council, Fu stressed that Israel should implement an immediate ceasefire, cautioning that the method and targets of the recent strikes on Iran's nuclear infrastructure could have far-reaching and serious consequences. He underscored that all nuclear-related disputes must be settled through dialogue and negotiation.
According to Mehr, his comments came just two days before the United States launched strikes on three Iranian nuclear sites—an action widely seen as deepening the crisis and increasing the risk of regional instability.
Saudi Arabia also strongly condemned the attacks, with its Nuclear and Radiological Regulatory Commission labeling them a clear breach of international law. The condemnation followed a series of Israeli strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities.
In a related development, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) confirmed that the Israeli assaults caused damage to the main structures under construction at Iran’s Khondab Heavy Water Research Reactor. However, the agency noted that, as the site contained no nuclear material, there was no risk of radioactive contamination.
